A long long while. I missed writing but life caught up to me and I have just been enjoying it as much as I can. Popping in once in a while to see the updates from this little group of ours has given me such great joy that you have added to your families or just finding out about a little miracle growing inside.
I can't believe I'm at the tail end Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-38649429765144129202012-10-04T15:36:00.001-04:002012-10-04T15:36:12.432-04:00Appointments, schma-ppointmentsTomorrow - 1st Appt with new endocrinologist at hospital

A bit nervous for next week's IPS, I just Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-48407651240554897972012-09-26T09:31:00.000-04:002012-09-26T09:41:32.830-04:00WaitingHi friends,
So, I'm still pregnant.
It feels surreal to say it, but I'm 10w1d now and already starting to show. It's starting to get really real.
We saw Cell* via the dating ultrasound 2 weeks ago requested by the high risk OB (still haven't gotten an appt yet, they need 'proof' before they accept the referral) and I was fully prepared to hear the ultrasound tech say 'well, there Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-60180046615845251642012-08-30T10:42:00.001-04:002012-08-30T10:42:39.655-04:00Unimaginable Part DeuxSo have we all come out of shock yet? I haven't.
Also for the record, you all are so sweet, but my dear boy is not 2 until October hehe.
Ok on we go with the rest of the developing story:
DH and I walked back to the parking lot after leaving the hospital, speechless at first and then exclaiming, "can you believe this is happening?" several times. DH couldn't help but start getting Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-54772026410507165392012-08-28T10:24:00.002-04:002012-08-30T10:44:30.987-04:00Unimaginable Part OneHi friends, it's been a while. A LONG. while.
Lots and lots to update on, hmmm, where do I start?
Elliott will be TWO in October, TWO! Mind blowing that he is well on his way to being a super-toddler and no longer mommy's little bumblebee. He is happy, curious, inquisitive, sometimes hot headed, prefers running vs. walking, loves to be read to, loves being swung during Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-53137827957836383162012-03-08T09:00:00.002-05:002012-03-08T09:11:10.087-05:00He's not a 'baby' anymoreThank you so much for your thoughts and encouragement in my last post. God heard my prayers and yesterday morning I got a call to a new end.ocrinologist that I requested my family dr. a referral to, and I managed to get in later this morning for an appointment (next one is in June!)
Hope she is the right person to guide me through to close to perfect health again soon.
Now in Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-65053884031664212872012-03-02T21:48:00.000-05:002012-03-02T21:48:50.502-05:00Where do I begin...First off, no, I am not pregnant again - in fact, a bit far from it.
Before I scare any of you, I am doing ok, Elliott is doing amazing and changing every day. But alas, I have some not so great news to share.
Around early summer last year, I started getting alot of comments from my hubby, friends and family, about how skinny I'd become, I was wearing shorts (and I never have, Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-82322109504784817462012-01-22T11:01:00.000-05:002012-01-22T11:01:59.239-05:00So much to catch up on...The only excuse I have for not posting for omgosh the past...5 MONTHS (!)...well, I have none! I enjoyed my last few months of mat leave with Elliott, his/my friends, busy trying to get my head wrapped around returning to work...and voila! here we are. I have missed you all dearly, my friends.
We have had a lot of milestones since I last posted. Elliott started bursting teeth out of Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-54383747613231828652011-08-10T23:30:00.006-04:002011-08-11T00:03:37.658-04:009 months, 2nd tooth, sleep re-training, crawling monkeyWowee I think that's the longest I've ever gone without posting!!! I've been super pre-occupied with Elliott as I'm well aware that I will be going back to work in 4 months!! So every minute is definitely counting more when I know that I won't get to see him 12 hrs a day like I do now.
Gosh where do I start there has been so so much that has happened since the last post I may not remember it Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-13933072194728039262011-06-27T21:48:00.001-04:002011-06-27T21:50:51.032-04:00Colds, Separation Anxiety and Army CrawlWell it's been one heck of a week and a bit, to say the least. E got his first real, full-blown cold and boy, it was not pretty. I felt so bad for him, as he would snort and try to breathe through the thick mucus plugged up in his wittle nose and he would scream his way through me trying to help him 'un-plug' it. I bought a really useful nose pump called Hy.dras.ense for babies. Like it? :)))
This might just be the shortest point on record, but just had to share!
We're heading to our first Mom-to-mom sale tomorrow, hoping to snatch up some 'next steps' items like: baby gates, baby proofing schtuffs, and maybe some books. If you've never heard of mom-to-mom sales, Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-34173312316776602392011-06-14T22:37:00.002-04:002011-06-15T21:28:38.943-04:00Baby Steps towards Baby Led WeaningWe first started E on rice cereal. Then it progressed to sweet potato, butternut squash, peas, bananas, apples and pears. It was/is A LOT prep work to puree and pack and freeze all of his solids and although it's hilarious trying to feed him while he has a vice grip with his feet on my hands (prior to us getting him a high chair) - I'm starting to lean more and more towards Baby Led Weaning. Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-32854637190056912232011-06-13T21:42:00.000-04:002011-06-13T21:42:58.696-04:00Teething WoesSo for the past 3 nights, Elliott has been waking up screaming in the middle of the night, although super groggy when we go to comfort him. Our daytime routine is also a bit off because of the waking up at night but I really really hope this whole teething thing blows over soon. I forgot how it felt to be zombie like in the wee hours. I don't like it one bit but I do feel so bad for the little Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-16108565476989480832011-05-27T12:01:00.002-04:002011-05-27T12:05:10.356-04:00Oh, you're so luckyI'll explain the title in just a sec ;)
Firstly, I must apologize! I have been so bad at blogging and commenting - wow a whole month! Spring has definitely "sprung" here, with lots and lots and lots of rain! Today is finally a sunny day and I can see my gorgeous tulips standing tall and colourful. I still remember my younger sister on her hands and knees planting them for me last fall while I Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-30203357020438199542011-05-25T23:21:00.000-04:002011-05-25T23:21:30.614-04:00I keep meaning to postBut everytime I start, something comes up!
I have a post in draft that I still have to finish but for now, here are some pics...my little guy turns 7 months tomorrow! ahhhhhh!
Also, catching up on a lot of blogs - I apologize for the lack of comments but I will catch up! All of your sweet babies are growing up so fast as well - can you believe it?
Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-7128685352930567062011-04-28T23:10:00.000-04:002011-04-28T23:10:31.667-04:00Our First Family VacationWe got back from Orlando this past Sunday and I'm already having major vacation withdrawal!
The weather was beautiful, just gorgeous! Sunny and blue skies all week long and super warm. Elliott was a great little traveller - I was a bit worried about our flight going there as it was SUPER early (6:30 am departure!) but he did fabulously. I was most nervous when we were standing Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-41224118661200471852011-04-12T09:24:00.001-04:002011-04-12T20:18:00.170-04:00Open wide!Elliott has his first taste of solids this past Sunday. Just plain ol' rice cereal. He LOVED it! We couldn't keep up fast enough with the spoon he was practically lunging at it and using his hand on our wrist to bring it to him faster. Oh man this kid is so funny.
We got the whole thing on video and it cracks me up every time I watch it. I had put a baby food processor on my baby Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-1657123233434527902011-04-12T09:02:00.001-04:002011-04-12T09:06:03.921-04:00Drying up? Or big appetite? My goal with breastfeeding was to do it as long as I could, and when we first started - I have to be honest - I didn't enjoy it. The dryness, the pain, the twisting, the yanking - let's face it, it wasn't exactly the sweet gentle bonding time that I had envisioned.
Then things got better little by little. E learned how to latch properly, he wasn't as frantic just before I put him on Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-19203000117891238162011-04-05T09:30:00.002-04:002011-04-05T09:54:32.987-04:00Rollin' rollin' rollin'...So I had been waiting for E to reach this milestone of rolling from back to tummy since it's around the 5-6 month marker for most babies but now that it's happened - it's totally freaking me out!
Yesterday morning he woke up earlier than usual, around 6 am - so I fed him and put him back to bed, only to find him crying 20 mins later as he had rolled onto his tummy and was frustrated Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-17662560684186768332011-03-29T23:09:00.000-04:002011-03-29T23:09:37.644-04:005 months ~ and working on my fitness
My lil' man is 5 months already and I still can hardly believe it :) I am so so blessed to be his mommy and I thank God every day for sending us this happy, active, curious little boy.
Some highlights of the past month so I don't forget:
Caught on video: Elliott's first continuous laugh outburst (you know, those contagious baby laughs lol) when I asked my hubby to distract him Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-88877951628655779432011-03-16T22:36:00.001-04:002011-03-16T23:02:47.704-04:00Spring is in the airand Elliott is approaching 5 months next week! Whaaat? How the heck did that happen already? It's been a while since I last posted so forgive me if this post is a bit random and scattered.
Let's see, where to start? Elliott is such a happy baby, I really am so blessed that for the most part, all he does is jump up and down on my lap and shriek with happiness and babble endlessly. We have Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-58478761654956948872011-02-17T23:35:00.002-05:002011-02-17T23:37:53.451-05:00"Mommy Time"It is so easy to get caught up in everything baby these days, sometimes I'll catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and just shudder at the sight: spit up on various parts of my shirt (that I may or may not have been wearing for two days straight lol), hair a tad on the greasy side because I just wanted to crash the night before and not wash it before going to bed and sometimes the odd milk leakWendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8678243829041654144.post-42156586946209398282011-02-09T11:32:00.001-05:002011-02-09T11:33:25.504-05:00Napping woesAt this very moment, it has been 20 minutes since I put E down for a nap and he is still screaming at the top of his lungs. I am feeling so so guilty for hearing him cry but I am trying to let him fall asleep on his own and break out of the rock to sleep that we unfortunately started doing every now and then. It is SO hard and I don't know how else to help him sleep. The outfit is way too big for him (my parents brought it back from Hong Kong a few months ago and it's more for a 1 year old but we couldn't resist!)
Last year around this time we were just given the 'green light' to start trying again after a round of testing and a mandatory break. What a difference a year can make! Praise God! Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13552706129876750051noreply@blogger.com6
