Spring Cleaning and Week 7

Less than 2 days away (approx 44 hours) from the Big Ultrasound.

But who's counting, right? eeps.

So here we are entering into Week 7 on Wednesday. So far, so good I think. Generally feeling tired and on and off yuckiness. I woke up to pee this morning and freaked out that I felt my boobs weren't sore anymore. Went back to sleep and woke up a few hours later and the girls were achey and heavy again.  I know now firsthand that symptoms can come and go so I have got to get a grip and calm down. With the grace of God, I will have 33 more weeks of this to go and I'm sure this is just the beginning of the much anticipated journey ahead. Still haven't thrown up yet but as you ladies said in your supportive comments, puking is not exactly an indication of a healthy pregnancy either way, so I'm taking it with a grain of salt and just going with my other symptoms instead of focusing on that one. After all, as long as I have a healthy baby, who cares if I puke my guts out or not right?

So this past weekend was a productive one.  I got into a spring cleaning mode and turned my closet and dressers upside down, finally ridding of shirts that no longer fit, shirts that I wanted to fit into but never got around to, and generally clothes that were pill-y and or not in good shape anymore that I kept 'just in case'.

You know the clothes you hang onto because 'just in case' you'll need something for painting in, for that 'Where's Waldo' halloween costume or maybe a sailor costume', for doing yardwork in etc etc -- but I have T-shirts and I have 'home clothes' for that - so why was I hanging onto these things that were ratty and taking up room in my closet? I also wanted to make room for new clothes to come in - and after trying on several things that I just didn't want to let go, seeing how it looked on my body now confirmed that someone else could use it more than me.

Have you guys started your spring cleaning yet?  I was totally exhausted after I did it but it felt so so good to let go of those things - I highly recommend doing it one weekend!

  2. I can't wait until Wednesday!!!!!

We've been cleaning out like crazy, but then stalled out. Tonight we are supposed to clean out our storage room. It's not as big of a deal as it sounds. All of the storage space we have in our house is below our stairs... so we have to clean out a 8' x 3' space. I hope we do it without fighting!

  3. Can't wait to hear how Wednesday goes! I did my spring cleaning of my clothes last weekend! I have a huge bage to give away to charity! It feels so good after to get rid of clothes you know you will never wear again!

  5. Thank you for the beautiful message you left me on my blog. I'm praying your u/s comes quickly and your sweet baby is tucked in there tightly. I've been wanting to spring clean the entire pregnancy, but my condition has prevented me from doing so. I need some cleaning fairies. :) oh well. We're moving this summer, so lots of junk will get tossed then.

  6. Too funny, I did the same exact thing this weekend as well, but felt good as well to get rid of stuff. I was exhausted afterwards as well. Best of luck on Wednesday. I have mine on Friday.

  7. I'll be praying for you for the next 45 hours (okay...and then I'll continue to pray after that). But my prayers for the next 45 hours will be for strength, courage, and a beautiful heartbeat.

Symptoms come and go. It's so hard not to rely on them sometimes. I tested my own strength and determination when I was at about seven weeks (a week before our first appointment) by vowing to not intentionally feel my boobs. It took a lot of will power, but I think that it helped in putting my trust in God instead of symptoms.

    Hang in there!

  8. I started a mini-clean this weekend seeing as we had to host 23 people Sunday night for my father-in-laws 70th b-day. I even managed to organize all my home reno and medical tax receipts (and was totally shocked by the total of the latter!)

I can't wait to read your post after you finally get to see the heat beat. I decided that if I had a super-power, it would be the ability to time-travel. Imagine, you could zip ahead two days, become reassured, then enjoy this week without any worries.

  9. It seems like Wednesday is taking FOREVER to get here!! lol I can't imagine how it's been for you!
I will be thinking of you and can't wait to see baby's first picture!! It is so amazing I can't wait to hear how it goes. Of course you will probably be like me & at first you might feel like you are going to hurl, pass out or cry. But once you see that little heart is there and flickering it is wonderful.♥

  10. I am going to be thinking such good thoughts for you on Wednesday (and before, and after). Time goes so darned slowly, and my wish is for you to be on the other side of it. Smiling ear to ear.

I'm half-way through spring cleaning. I love decluttering. It gives me the (temporary!) feeling that I'm on top of everything. (And it also lets me rejoin many long lost pairs of socks:)

  11. I am certainly counting! Will be praying even harder for you over these next 44 hours. You are so right about symptoms coming and going and I'm happy you are working so hard at understanding that when it is so difficult.

We also did tons of spring cleaning this weekend! It's a pain but so fulfilling afterwards.

  14. Jealous! Spring cleaning is my favorite, but haven't managed to start quite yet.

I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday! Good luck!! Can't wait to hear about it!

(Oh, and yeah, don't worry about not throwing up - I didn't throw up once my entire pregnancy... in fact I didn't even have sore bbs - yeah, I was a basket case the entire 1T because I had hardly any symptoms).
