Week 6

So I'm into my 6th week. And so far, the only symptoms I've had consistently are sore bbs, bloating, cramping on and off, smell aversions, night sweats, pee during night and fatigue/constant yawning usually starting around 3 in the afternoon. I've been able to eat fine, go #2, and haven't yet thrown up.

Oh how badly I want to throw up.

I feel like I'm in limbo land.  I don't want to look back onto my posts next week and feel like an idiot for listing symptoms when there is no baby found on the u/s.  There, I said it outloud.  My greatest fear that I've been suppressing is out there for all to see. I am trying my best in reciting my Daily Mantra but I won't lie, it has not been easy.

Recently, whenever DH and I talk about the near future - i.e. when planning our June trip, when talking about whether or not he will take more courses this year for his accreditation, it all leads back to 'if' things are going to be different then. 'If' November will be crazy busy for us with a new baby - or 'if' it will be business as usual.

Next Wednesday can't get here fast enough. I just want the m/s to start kicking in so I can be somewhat reassured.

Prayers needed, thanks!!

p.s. Thanks to the newbies who dropped me a line in the last post - it's great to meet all of you and I'm following you now as well :)

  1. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! Don't wish morning sickness on yourself. :) I had both sides of the coin with my miscarriages: no morning sickness and tons of morning sickness. It didn't seem to make a difference in terms of the pregnancy lasting. Hopefully you just aren't a big morning sickness person, and the baby is snuggling in and happy as can be! (Also, a lot of times morning sickness doesn't kick in until 6 or 7 weeks, so it might be just on the horizon!)

  2. As much as you'll hate it and torturous it is, I hope you start puking! :) I know it's hard, but it is somewhat reassuring. One day at a time - today we're pregnant. That's the most important.

  5. I hope next Wednesday comes really fast for you! I sometimes think I would love the reassurance of a little m/s, but nothing so far for me either.

  6. *hugs* You say you can't wait for the nausea/ms, but when it gets here you will wish you hadn't LOL. I do totally understand why you say that. I have felt that way before. Know that I am praying for you and thinking of you always.

  7. LOL you said the ONLY symptoms and listed 7!! Morning sickness is some odd form of reassurance but I think all the symptoms you have are all great signs. I hope that the next week goes fast and you get to see a precious beating heart on Wed!

  8. LOLOL! You have way more symptoms than I had @ 6 weeks! I didn't even have the sore BB's. But with my first 2 PG's I did. And those didn't end well so I guess you just never know. I did however get the all day nausea which didn't start until into my 7th week. So there is still hope, as weird as that sounds to hope for. ;-)
And as horrible as the all day nausea really is, as you may still get, when it would be a little less one day I would freak out! I would forget how miserable it make's you feel and just want to feel it again. And I usually would in a few hours.
I can't wait to hear about your ultrasound. Too bad they couldn't do it this week. They can't see much at 6 weeks but I was so happy they did one.
Thinking of you & hoping for the best!

  9. nervousness/anxiety, rightfully warranted....and for the record, symptoms come and go, so they're not really a good indication for the viability of the pregnancy. looking forward to hearing good news from your u/s.

  10. I just came across your blog and was happy to read about someone who is pregnant at around the same time as I am (5 weeks). I totally understand your nervousness. I had a miscarriage back in 2004 when I was 36 years old and now pregnant (naturally)after 6 years of trying at 42! I had a u/s this past Monday saw yolk sac and it looked good. Going back next Friday to have another u/s. I have had the nauseous, tired and sore boobs all along. I will definitely keep you in my prayers and will be checking in to see how you are doing.

  11. I think that the period between a positive peestick/blood test and the ultrasound is the absolute hardest to bear. Harder than any 2ww. Harder than trying. Harder than anything. It’s nice to think that one day science will figure something out to get around it but for now: it is TERRIBLE. But the smell aversion is good, and a lot of people don’t start with m/s until after 6 weeks. And a lot of people don’t get it at all, and still have perfectly healthy pregnancies. None of which helps for now, I know, when you’d just like to know already. I’m thinking of you, Wendy. And I am thinking such good thoughts for your ultrasound. Part of this is selfless but part is selfish. I want someone to do it, to get past this brick wall of RPL. Because it’s going to give hope to the rest of us.

  12. I refuse to wish morning sickness on you, but I will gladly hope for mild yet present nausea, fatigue and lots of gas and bloating. And especially for a strong heat beat.
